Product Spotlight: Amethyst and Tanzanite Mandorlas Earrings

My stunning Amethyst and Tanzanite Mandorlas Earrings were inspired by a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC (and by a customer who felt I needed more purple in my collection!) These earrings feature almond-shaped sterling silver wire ("mandorla" is Italian for "almond") soldered closed for security and durability, hammered for texture, and darkened with a patina solution. They’re wrapped with amethyst and tanzanite rondelles and a deeply-colored amethyst teardrop dangles below.

Metaphysically speaking, amethysts are associated with sobriety and wine goblets were once studded with amethysts to counter the effects of alcohol. Corresponding with the crown chakra, amethysts today are used in meditation, bringing one closer to their highest mind, helping to achieve their goals through wisdom and higher understanding.

I often get comments from customers about how my jewelry is just a bit different than most of what’s on the market. I’d like to think that it has to do with my penchant for reflecting nature. To me, nothing is more sublime than nature. Nature is never perfectly symmetrical, but always working toward balance. The heart of my design goals rests in hitting that sweet spot of asymmetrical balance, which these earrings truly represent.

Wear these earrings to connect with your highest mind or just when you need a bit more purple in your collection!
